Comforter bed sets should at least include the basics

Okay, comforter bed sets vary so read the fine print very carefully. If you are looking to buy a good comforter bed set it should include:

• comforter
• Comforter cover
• pillows
• shams

That is why they are calling it a comforter bed set and not just a comforter a set means a lot of stuff right!  Now how many and what type of pillows & shams will vary because....

Comforter bed sets come in all sizes

A twin comforter set may come with only 1 bed pillow and 1 sham. Now check out the pillow and sham sizes too, a king comforter set should have bigger size pillows and shams and maybe a couple of Euro shams would be nice too. Why do you need shams? You can not make a pillow fold easily with a comforter so you place those shams on top to make your bed look nice when your company snoops around your bedroom.

Comforter bed sets can have a different stuffing

Down comforter bed sets vary in the amount of filling and how they prevent the Down from shifting. Some comforter bed sets are baffled which allows for a better lofting of the down, other comforters are sewn through which achieves a puffy appearance. If a loft number is given, the higher the better and goose down is better than duck down and down is better than feathers. The higher fill weight, combined with a higher loft rating will mean a warmer comforter set. The cheap comforters may have bulky polyester fill which may mean it is heavy and you still may not be warm enough, but the prices are good and for a quest room, you don't want them too comfortable they may never leave right!  One final point make sure the comforter has at least a 200 thread count or eat feathers while you sleep. I still have a pillow made from some ducks my dad shot and he died in 1948 so those feathers are old, I ate a few of them as my mom must have used a low thread count casing on it as I'd wake up with pin feather poking me in the face and down in my mouth.

Buy the highest quality you can afford right now, you can always upgrade later and give your dog the old ones he will love you for it. There are some good buys if you read the details and compare, I'm sure you will be satisfied, remember we spend about one third of our life in bed so we deserve to be comfortable.
